Friday here, getting ready to cook up some of Patrice's famous gumbo and thought I'd get caught up on the blog!  Week 2a has gone really quite well, we've had some weather slow downs early on but we're wrapping on a bluebird note!
-Saw our first gator down at Venice, that was excellent and a first for me!
-Only one bird captured, but we fought through the fog all week long.
-Today we had a wonderful display of kleptoparasitism as a laughing gull was attempting to take a small fish being carried by a forster's tern!  The tern prevailed and the gull left hungry!

Back to week 1b for a moment though with some photos that come from Glenda's camera:
You've got to keep their mouths busy with something...

Joan and this bird got along alright...

Sending him/her on their way!  Look for the paint that matches the band on the lower mandible!

What we're left with!

Thanks for the photos!  Keep them coming--email them to Andrew (east.andrew01@gmail.com) and he'll eventually get them posted!

Hopefully I'll get some photos up from week 2a tonight!  But for now, it's back to the gumbo!
